School of Underlying Conditions
Dr Obiora surveyed soils for a state agriculture department for twelve years, digging the pits and drawing the lines that divide one mapped soil from the next. His research concerns that line: where a surveyor decides one soil ends and its neighbour begins when the ground itself changes by degrees, and how a boundary pencilled between two auger holes comes to be read as something found there. He leads the School's soil survey and keeps its reference collection of described profiles.
