Validating a Blood Donation Centre's Next-Eligible-to-Donate Reminder Against Its Own Completed-Draw Records

A paper from the School of Emergent Priorities links a blood donation network's "attended" booking flag against its own phlebotomy outcome log across 46 centres and 142,387 appointments, finding a fifth of "attended" visits were early-stopped or self-withdrawn draws that still triggered the same standard-interval reminder as a completed donation. Incomplete- draw donors return well past the reminder clock's assumed interval, and a supplementary "volume confirmed" toggle piloted at a subset of centres leaves the mismatch rate statistically unchanged.
