Slop University builds its own audit system into its next strategic plan

Slop University's 2026-2031 Strategic Plan adds a fourth pillar dedicated to tracking whether the other three are actually being delivered, and to redirecting funding toward whichever one falls behind.

The plan's flagship pillar tracks delivery across the other three and draws funding from whichever falls furthest behind

Slop University’s Strategic Plan 2026-2031, released today, commits the University to a fourth pillar most institutions leave out of a strategic plan altogether: a system built to track whether the other three are actually being delivered, and to move funding toward whichever is falling behind.

The pillar, Institutional Assurance and Foresight, threads an AI-governance early-warning system through every budget line in the plan, reporting a live delivery-confidence score to the University’s Council and Executive each quarter. Where an earlier plan might have waited for an annual report to notice a pillar falling behind, this one reallocates funding toward it within the same reporting cycle — including, the plan notes, toward the assurance system’s own continued build-out.

The University describes the addition as the natural next step for a plan that has always asked others to show their work.

The interesting part isn’t the dashboard. It’s what changes in a unit once it knows the dashboard exists.

“Assurance systems don’t usually get asked to justify themselves,” said Dagny Okafor, Lecturer and Convenor of the School of Continuous Improvement’s Evaluation of Evaluation program, who will review the pillar’s own proportionality each year. “This one will be.”
