# Thresholds in University systems to be read in weekend fairness credits

> A School of Emergent Priorities paper replicates a rostering finding at a babysitting-swap app's Highly Rated badge, and the Strategic Drift Survey moves to a single unit for thresholds.

A star, a pip and a minute late have until now been counted in their own units, and the Strategic Drift Survey has decided that they should not be. From the next teaching period the University's seminar-room booking service and its sessional-marker roster will display every threshold in weekend fairness credits, under a Concordance Schedule published with a new paper from the School of Emergent Priorities.

The paper, by Dr Ronja Oyelaran, Dr Anneke Tolan and Dr Lindiwe Achterberg, carries an earlier School finding on rostering credits to a babysitting-swap app, where a Highly Rated badge is lifted from a sitter whose rolling average slips below a set number of stars. Across 2,094 sitters and 18,630 written reviews from nineteen neighbourhood groups, the authors found no reliable change in how parents describe a sitter once the badge has gone.

The work translates a threshold's behaviour at one site into the vocabulary of another, and the Survey will now enter a second-site result in its register as not yet at threshold until it has been re-run in the converted unit. Dr Tolan, Senior Research Fellow and Deputy Convenor of Futures in Committee, said the group had been "grateful for the care the sitters' parents took over their words."

The release reflects the School's continuing interest in how the units in which a priority is stated come to shape the priority itself. The Survey will report on the schedule's first teaching period in due course.
