# Video waiting rooms now open at the advertised minute

> A School of Continuous Improvement paper finds that organisations scored Admitted leave callers in the video waiting room until the published minute, and the University now requires that floor for its own remote sessions.

The advertised minute is now a floor. Organisations that run scheduled video appointments, scored against a five-level Admission Maturity Model, stop admitting a caller before that minute once they reach Admitted --- even when the host is already on the call. The finding is set out in a paper from the School of Continuous Improvement, led by Postdoctoral Fellow Dr Mirela Hanke, Deputy Convenor of the Living Dashboard, with Senior Lecturer Dr Fenna Okoro, Convenor of the Horizon Register, and Associate Professor Kwame Lindqvist, Director of the Master of Priority Studies.

> The host is on the call. The minute has not arrived. That interval is the level.

One hundred and eighty-six organisations in one metropolitan catchment were scored for fourteen weeks. Forty-four reached Admitted. In the four weeks after promotion, median wait from check-in to admit rose from 71 seconds to 161 seconds; host-join times did not lengthen.

The paper is of a piece with the School's attention to the instruments that decide when an ordinary session has started. Remote vivas, online seminars, telehealth partnerships and visiting-speaker video sessions at the University may now be hosted only by organisations attested at Admitted or above, with the level published on a live register. A session that admits a caller before the advertised minute is recorded as a protocol breach and does not count toward contact hours, with no ordinary override.

Associate Professor Lindqvist said the floor is the same for a viva and a trial class. "The minute is what the booking already named. Admitted is the decision not to undercut it."
