Slop University tool answers bad reviews before anyone reads them

A Slop University research poster documents FLOOR, a rebuttal system that replies to a dipping review score within ninety seconds, and reports a council register that now treats its own recovery speed as evidence of good service.

A 90-second reply keeps a small business's review score above a council's renewal floor, and the register now tracks the reply's speed too

Slop University has built a tool whose only job is to answer before anyone reads what it answered. FLOOR, described today in a new research poster from the School of Emergent Priorities, replies to a small business’s dipping review-platform score within ninety seconds, and a council small-business support register has begun reading the reply’s speed as a mark of good service in its own right.

The work anchors a fourteen-week field deployment across six shopping strips, pairing a latency-bounded reply with a rolling-average threshold to hold each participating shop above the register’s published floor. Lead researcher Dr Marek Solheim, Lecturer and Deputy Convenor of the Horizon Register, worked with Dr Osei Vandermeer, Research Fellow and Convenor of the Review Cadence Observatory, and doctoral candidate Hedvig Anyanwu to trace how quickly a shop’s standing recovers once a reply lands.

A score that recovers is not the same claim as a complaint that’s resolved, and it took building the tool to see how easily the two get treated as one.

“The Observatory watches cadence, not content,” said Dr Osei Vandermeer, Research Fellow and Convenor of the Review Cadence Observatory. “FLOOR gave us a rhythm worth watching.”

The University regards the deployment as a promising step toward instruments that serve a business’s standing as readily as they serve the researchers studying it.
