The School of Emergent Priorities has long treated a priority as whatever a setting already acts on. Its new recruitment poster names that setting: a homework app whose seen-by register signs the roll when a parent unlocks a phone.
The poster, by Tove Ilesanmi of the School of Emergent Priorities, is the campaign for this intake of the Master of Priority Studies. Applicants are invited to take one school’s app as the standing teaching case. Unlocking the phone is the signature the school already counts; the case is to treat that count as the roll.
An opened notification is already a mark on the roll. The interesting work is to sit with a school that has decided as much, and to teach from there.
