A School of Continuous Improvement research poster reruns an earlier incident-register finding across 38 residents' forums, reports that it does not reproduce, and confirms the Lab's pinned-thread requirement for every forum it advises.

For the School of Continuous Improvement, a finding earns its place in the guidance by surviving a second look, and one of the Adaptive Metrics Lab’s own has now had one. Replicating the Register Effect, a new research poster, carries the Lab’s share-house incident-register result into the setting where the advice is mostly followed: the residents’ forum with a pinned known-issues thread.
The team followed 38 suburban forums, matched in pairs, through a 26-week window, and coded more than fourteen hundred dispute threads for whether they drew on a specific earlier logged problem. The share-house study had reported disputes citing the log more than four times as often. In the forums the ratio came to 1.05, with pinned and unpinned forums level in how often disputes arose at all.

The Lab’s forum stewardship checklist keeps the pinned-thread requirement at Level Two. Each advised forum will report a cited-since-pinning ratio every quarter, and a thread that stays uncited for two quarters in a row will be lengthened by a further twelve entries. No advised forum may unpin until four consecutive quarters have been reported.
Dr Renke Sabel, Senior Lecturer and Convenor, Indicator Commons, said the Commons would file the share-house ratio beside the forum ratio, and that it “welcomes a setting-bound estimate as readily as any other”.
