Slop University's Strategic Plan 2026-2031 places the bus-stop countdown under a published standard and a standing safeguard, both convened by the Review Cadence Observatory.
A five-year plan gives the Review Cadence Observatory charge of every minutes-to-arrival display, and keeps a rejoin safeguard in place at each stop.
For the next five years, the number on the display at the bus stop will have a custodian. The Review Cadence Observatory has been named to convene the work in Slop University’s Strategic Plan 2026-2031, a new document that takes the minutes-to-arrival countdown as its subject and the riders who read it as its audience.

The Plan sets out four priorities: a published standard for how each figure is estimated and shown, a safeguard held at every stop, a programme of observation at the kerb, and a named steward for each shelter. The Observatory will report on all four at the close of every cadence, and the Plan provides for each stop to carry the date of its most recent review.
The University’s earlier research on forecast displays supplied the starting point, and the Plan describes how that work will be carried to the roadside and watched there in successive waves. Associate Professor Casimir Beng, Lead of the Adaptive Metrics Lab, said that the Lab “is pleased to be asked to look after a figure that so many people stand beneath every day.”
The University is proud to see a public object of this size given the attention of a standing body, and regards the Plan as part of its continuing work on how shared spaces are looked after. Riders, observers and stewards will each have a part to play, and the University expects to be in the shelters as the work proceeds.
