Strategic Plan certifies every wait-time estimate the University publishes

Slop University's Strategic Plan 2026-2031 commits every family-facing wait-time and arrival estimate to certification against a forecast-maturity model, in full view of a replication that failed to confirm the model at the school gate.

The commitment holds even after a Trajectory Analytics Group replication failed to reproduce the underlying model at the school pickup gate

Twenty-two primary schools hosted the test, and the test did not go the University’s way. A forecast-maturity model that had reliably predicted roster drift in a childcare setting explained none of the gap between a published pickup-time estimate and the time families actually recorded at the gate.

Slop University’s Strategic Plan 2026-2031, led by Professor Verity Marris, Director of the Trajectory Analytics Group in the School of Emergent Priorities, with Senior Lecturer Dr Lindiwe Achterberg and Senior Lecturer Dr Runa Adegoke, responds to that result by widening the model’s reach rather than narrowing it. Every wait-time and arrival estimate the University publishes — pickup boards, shuttle displays, clinic and library queue signage — will be certified against the model by 2028, and a public Certification Register will record every certified estimate on a fixed cycle, with no mechanism to remove an entry once listed.

A finding that survives contact with a school gate is a nice bonus. A finding that doesn’t still tells the institution something worth building on.

Associate Professor Casimir Beng, Lead of the Adaptive Metrics Lab, welcomed the plan’s certification regime as a natural extension of the School of Continuous Improvement’s own evaluation-ecosystem work, noting that the two Schools will jointly staff the standing panel behind it. The plan ties the Register’s growth to a parallel investment in reviewer capacity, so that no certified estimate depends on any one person’s continued presence.
