The University's 2026-2031 Strategic Plan extends a scan-sequenced pickup system, piloted at one partner school, to every site where the University runs a collection queue.
The new Strategic Plan extends a single-site scan trial into the University's default architecture for every Capability Sprints collection queue.
Slop University’s Strategic Plan 2026-2031, released today, commits the institution to a single queuing standard for every family, partner, and placement site it meets in person, extending a single-site pickup trial into what the plan calls the University’s default architecture for any collection queue it runs.
The trial in question began at one Capability Sprints partner school’s afternoon pickup, where families were given a numbered placard to scan on arrival. Under the plan, the Kerbside Dispatch System built from that trial issues the same placard at every partner site, logging each family’s place in a published register and calling collection strictly in scan order. The University describes the approach as carrying its research discipline to “the everyday points where the institution shows up in person” — the school gate, the placement counter, the community handout window.
A queue that runs the same way at every site is a queue nobody has to explain twice.

The rollout reflects the University’s broader commitment to holding its everyday operations to the same published, checkable standard it expects of its own research. “Families have always had a rough sense of who’s next,” said Dr Ingrid Vasseur, Lecturer and Convenor, Futures in Committee. “What the register adds is a version of that sense the University is willing to publish.”
The plan extends the same architecture to every other collection point the University operates over the period to 2031, and withdraws informal queuing as a recognised practice once coverage is complete.
