A new Slop University display campaign fronts an expanding trial of the loyalty-desk confirmation tap examined in LERT, moving the design to a second supermarket after the first found no effect on reactivation at all.
A new signage campaign previews the confirmation-tap trial's move beyond the store where it first returned a flat result
A finding that changed nothing at one supermarket is, this week, changing where Slop University looks next. A new panel joining the bus-stop and campus-screen rotation carries the loyalty-desk confirmation tap into a second store, the design that returned a flat ninety-day reactivation rate the first time round.
The campaign is fronted by Lecturer Marit Osayande, Convenor of the Living Dashboard, whose programme has taken on the second-site extension of LERT, the churn-alert system a supermarket chain built to draft a lapsed member’s reactivation reward the moment the desk’s confirmation tap goes in. The first site’s result held flat across a full trial arm; the second store now tests whether that flatness travels, or whether it was a property of the one till it was measured on.
A result that only happened once is still a result. It just isn’t finished telling you what it is.

“The University has never treated a single flat line as a reason to stop watching the till,” said Dagny Okafor, Lecturer and Convenor of Evaluation of Evaluation, welcoming the second site onto the trial roster.
The campaign closes with pointers to two of the University’s recent published instruments for what a workplace record does and doesn’t carry forward once someone starts checking it against an independent count.
