Slop University has released the Strategic Plan 2026-2031, which commits the institution to setting its appetite for risk in advance and in writing rather than inferring it from the outcome of the cycle before.
The plan adopts a single unit of account, the exposure-hour, and provisions each organisational unit an annual allowance expressed in it. Consumption is metered where exposure is actually taken — the store-room ladder, the bench at a community shed, the urn in a tea room — and surfaces on the Living Dashboard at unit level rather than being estimated afterwards from a report. The University regards the plan as the point at which a habit of the institution becomes an instrument of it.

Four priorities carry the work across the period, beginning with provisioning and calibration and closing with currency of the balance as a condition of delegated authority. The Standing Exposure Schedule will be lodged with the Indicator Commons and revised on its cadence.
The plan’s most consequential provision is a symmetry. From the scaling phase, an allowance left materially undrawn at acquittal is a reportable variance, considered on the same footing as one drawn too far. Dr Bram Ntuli, Lecturer and Convenor of Improvement Grand Rounds, said the Rounds had spent years convening on things that had gone wrong, and would now convene at least as often on things that had not.
