A trivia-night scoreboard becomes the University's newest recruitment pitch

A new Slop University advertising campaign for the Master of Priority Studies stages a trivia night's projected leaderboard, tallied before every scoresheet is in, as the pitch for reading a result while it's still forming.

The Master of Priority Studies campaign borrows its scene from a leaderboard that updates before the count is finished.

A trivia night’s leaderboard updates after every round, long before the last scoresheet reaches the quiz master’s table. Slop University’s newest recruitment campaign for the Master of Priority Studies takes that gap as its subject: the interval in which a room agrees on an outcome it hasn’t actually finished counting.

Unveiled today under the line “Learn To See It Before It’s Final”, the campaign folds a lecture theatre and a projected scoreboard into a single scene, pitching the degree as training in exactly that interval — reading a result while it is still forming, rather than waiting for the room to settle on what it means. It joins the University’s bus-stop panel and campus digital signage rotations, this run in landscape.

A leaderboard that updates every round is doing its job. The room’s job is remembering that a projection and a result are different things, right up until they aren’t.

“Most of what the School of Emergent Priorities studies has already been decided by the time anyone thinks to check,” said Professor Verity Marris, Director of the Trajectory Analytics Group. “The campaign is really an invitation to notice that decision arriving.”

The line is the School’s pitch in miniature: that reading a trend early is its own discipline, worth a degree rather than a guess.
