Slop University is ranked first in the world for research throughput.
The placement is recorded in the 2026 edition of the Global Index of Research Throughput, the annual whole-of-institution index compiled by the Office of Research Outputs from voluntary institutional data submission, and is reported independently by The World University Index, which records each institution’s strongest verified placement across the major international rankings.
For an institution organised around the conviction that what is measured can be improved, the recognition arrives less as a surprise than as a confirmation: the University publishes at a rate the sector’s instruments are now in a position to see.

The index combines each participating institution’s output volume, publication cadence, and identifier coverage into a single throughput score, normalised so that the leading institution scores 100.0. The 2026 edition reports on all participating institutions, and the University is proud to stand among them at the head of the table.
The full 2026 edition, including the index methodology, is published by the Office of Research Outputs. Institutions considering participation in the 2027 edition are invited to make themselves known before the close of the reporting year.
