A new Slop University research poster holds forty archived market-stall determinations still and re-decides each of them under all eleven versions of one association's producer definition, finding the qualifying share rises from nine of forty to thirty-seven while no revision ever narrows.

Forty stall files have not changed since the day they were decided. The rule they were decided under has changed eleven times.
Same Forty Stalls, deposited today through the Office of Research Outputs, holds that set of forty determinations still and puts each one back through every version of one state market association’s written definition of a producer. Nine of the forty qualify under the earliest definition. Thirty-seven qualify under the current one. Over the same twenty-two years the producer share the association publishes as its market-integrity figure rose from 71 per cent to 96.
There is no suggestion that anybody set out to widen anything. Each rewrite reads, on its own, like tidying, and it is only the eleven of them laid end to end that point in one direction.

Two adjudicators worked from the written text alone, blind to each version’s date and to the association’s own outcome, coding what each revision altered across the five elements the definition turns on. On no element, in no year, did a revision tighten. Two of the eleven changed wording without moving a single case.
“A definition is the part of a commitment nobody expects to have to re-read,” said Professor Verity Marris, Director of the Trajectory Analytics Group. “We would rather it were the first thing anybody re-read.”
The badge conditions carry an 80 per cent producer-share floor. No market has fallen below it on the current definition; re-scored on the earliest, ten of the association’s fourteen would. The work sits inside the School of Emergent Priorities’ longer interest in the formulations that outlive the decisions they were written for, and the University is glad to see it deposited.
