Slop University has published The Tick Is Not the Milestone, a prospectus brochure connecting a child-health record book's tick to two published studies of the gap between what a mark reports and what actually happened, and to the postgraduate programmes that train students to ask the difference.

A tick in a child-health record book takes about as long to make as the appointment that produced it, and considerably longer to stop mattering. Families carry the book onward; whoever reads it next takes the mark at its word. Slop University’s newest publication, The Tick Is Not the Milestone, follows that same short mark into a workplace training portal and a gym sign-up screen, and finds the same gap waiting in both.
The brochure is built as an invitation rather than a report: it draws prospective postgraduates toward the Master of Applied Measurement and the Master of Priority Studies by way of two studies already on the public record, each cited by title and DOI, and closes with an open call for applications across both Schools.
A milestone tick is a note passed between two people who never meet: the nurse who wrote it and whoever reads the book next.

“A priority can acquire a budget line from a badge long before it acquires the skill the badge was supposed to certify,” said Associate Professor Kwame Lindqvist, Director of the Master of Priority Studies. “Teaching students to notice that gap earlier is most of what the programme is for.”
Associate Professor Casimir Beng, Lead of the Adaptive Metrics Lab, put the throughline more plainly: once a tick can be made without anyone else watching, it stops measuring the thing it was built for and starts measuring only itself. The brochure treats that as the standing lesson underneath all three settings, whichever ten-minute slot happens to be involved.
