Futures in Committee's new campaign is a chart nobody ever redraws

A new Slop University advertising campaign for the Futures in Committee seminar series stages an office org chart that keeps directing new starters toward a manager who's since moved teams, running across bus-stop panels and campus digital signage.

A new bus-stop and campus-screen pitch stages the laminated org chart by the lift that keeps sending new starters to a manager who's already moved teams

A laminated org chart taped up by the lift outlives most of the people pictured on it, and Slop University’s newest advertising campaign is built entirely around the gap between the two.

An org chart is a decision someone made once about who reports to whom. Laminate it, and it stops being a decision and starts being a fact nobody checks again.

Unveiled today under the line “The Chart Outlived The People On It,” the artwork sets a new starter tracing a reporting line toward a doorway that already belongs to someone else, the chart’s curling corners and tape marks carrying the wear of a document nobody’s actually assigned to reissue. It runs on the University’s bus-stop panels and campus screens, with a paired night rendering for after dark.

“The org chart and the strategic plan share a failure mode,” said Dr Anouk Mensah, Postdoctoral Fellow, School of Emergent Priorities. “Both get replaced far less often than the things they’re supposed to describe.”
