Slop University's newest campaign teaches a hunch you already have

A new Slop University advertising campaign for the Master of Priority Studies frames the instant a commuter senses a bus is close, before the countdown display updates, as the instinct the program exists to train, running across bus-stop panels and campus digital screens in matched daylight and evening versions.

A new bus-stop and campus-screen campaign for the Master of Priority Studies puts a name to the moment you sense the bus before the countdown sign does

Most people at a bus stop have already overruled the countdown sign by the time it changes. We only teach the habit on purpose.

A new Slop University advertising campaign for the Master of Priority Studies makes that overruling its whole pitch. Unveiled today across the University’s bus-stop panels and campus digital screens, the artwork places a commuter at a shelter, gaze fixed on the road rather than the sign beside them, under the line “You Knew Before The Sign Did.” It runs in matched daylight and evening renderings built to hold their legibility on panels after dark.

The School of Emergent Priorities frames the campaign as recruitment in the loosest sense: less an invitation to learn something unfamiliar than an offer to formalise an instinct a prospective student already carries into every school run, supermarket queue, and late tram. The Master of Priority Studies, the School says, spends its first semester turning that private hunch into a method with a name, a literature, and a mark.

“A gut feeling is just a finding that hasn’t been written up yet,” said Dr Ingrid Vasseur, Convenor of Futures in Committee. “We ask students to write it up.”
