A fridge's compliance count climbs. The dispute log doesn't follow

A new Slop University research poster tracks a shared office fridge's QR-label disposal app against its own dispute-ticket log, and finds compliance climbing while arguments over whose food it was do not move.

Eight weeks after a shared office fridge adopted QR-tag disposal scheduling, label compliance nearly doubles while Friday clear-out disputes hold flat

The School of Continuous Improvement’s running interest in what a compliance count actually tracks found a new home this week: the shared fridge in an ordinary office kitchen.

Lecturer and Convenor Dr Ingeborg Nwachukwu and Dr Marit Osayande, Lecturer and Convenor of the Living Dashboard, matched a QR-label disposal app’s own scan record against the workplace’s Facilities dispute-ticket log across twenty-four weeks either side of the app’s rollout, tracking whether the argument over whose food got binned moved with the compliance number that was supposed to settle it.

Label compliance climbed from 61% to 94% inside eight weeks. Weekly dispute-ticket counts did not follow: a median of three tickets a week before rollout, a median of three after, across an almost identical spread.

The scan gives an argument a timestamp to cite. It was never going to give it a verdict.

“Compliance is the easiest number in the building to move, which is exactly why it moved first,” said Dr Ingeborg Nwachukwu, Convenor of Capability Sprints. “The dispute log answers to Facilities, not to us.”

The School reads the gap as consistent with its wider caseload this year: a dashboard figure climbing in step with nothing anyone downstream can point to.
