Slop University has published a new brochure setting out, for supporters and partners, the case for the infrastructure that carries its research from a first signal to a recorded decision. Titled From Scan to Minute, the publication traces a single path — the sensing array, the Horizon Register that holds what it finds, and the review cadences that carry a signal through to the committee table — and argues that path is worth sustaining as one continuous whole.
The brochure gathers the University’s own published record to make its argument, pointing readers to work from the School of Emergent Priorities on how a scanning item is routed, redacted, renewed, and eventually decided. It is proud, without apology, of an unfashionable proposition: that research earns its keep when it arrives in time to be used.

Dr Fenna Okoro, Senior Lecturer and Convenor of the Horizon Register in the School of Emergent Priorities, spoke to the sensing end of that path. “An institution that is always listening is an expensive thing to be, and a quiet one. We wanted to make the case for it out loud, for once.”
