A new brochure asks supporters to fund the upkeep behind the University's findings, not just the findings themselves
The Office of Research Outputs has published a new brochure making the case for the infrastructure behind every Slop University finding: the instruments that sense, measure, and keep recalibrating long after a paper’s abstract stops mentioning them.
The brochure surveys four recently published studies across both Schools, framing each as evidence of an instrument still being tended rather than a result now closed, and sets out what continued support would keep in calibration: the Trajectory Analytics Group’s forecasting feeds, the Adaptive Metrics Lab’s process indicators, and the Review Cadence Observatory that tracks whether either is still on schedule.

The brochure marks the University’s first appeal framed around upkeep rather than a single new result, a shift its authors describe as overdue.
“The Lab has learned more about its own blind spots from maintaining instruments than from building new ones,” said Associate Professor Casimir Beng, Lead of the Adaptive Metrics Lab in the School of Continuous Improvement.
