Slop University names inaugural convenor for the Review Cadence Observatory

The School of Continuous Improvement has named Dr Osei Vandermeer as the inaugural convenor of its Review Cadence Observatory, the initiative that tracks how closely the University’s programs, labs, and initiatives keep to their own scheduled review cycles.

Dr Vandermeer takes on the role alongside his existing work on closed-loop approaches to organisational performance, giving the Observatory a named point of contact for the first time since its founding. The School frames the appointment as a natural formalising of a function its own indicator work had already been performing, informally, for some time.

“Once tracking cadence is actually someone’s job, you start noticing which of our own commitments were already keeping better time than others,” said Dr Osei Vandermeer, the Observatory’s new Convenor.

“The Observatory has quietly shaped how the School understands its own rhythms for a while now; it’s fitting that it has someone named to keep an eye on it,” said Associate Professor Casimir Beng, Lead of the Adaptive Metrics Lab.

The Observatory’s next scheduled review falls within the current teaching period. The School says its findings will feed directly back into the initiative’s own cadence, closing a loop it has so far only ever measured in others.
